That’s the benefit of freelancing and working at home isn’t it? You could work outside in the warm sun or cuddle under the blanket in your bed. Or if you’re really lucky be like Virgin founder Sir Richard Branson and sit on a hammock with the view of your own private island. *Sigh.
Wouldn’t that be a dream?
But we don’t have it that bad actually. I know some full-time freelancers who take their office out in the sunroom and move themselves around their home throughout the day as they see fit.
As for me, I am a roamer. Sometimes I go from den to bedroom to living room and other times when I need a change, I go to one of three of my favorite cafes.
A mover and shaker at heart, I find that I am most productive when I’m not sitting at my desk the whole day.
So what about you?
Where do you set up shop every day?
I work best in my home office, but every once in a while it helps a lot for me to get out. I’ll usually do that when I have work that is more research-related (or even admin stuff, like invoicing, drafting up quotes, etc) since when it comes time to really write I concentrate best in my office.
I tried co-working last week, and my building also has a great lounge area with wifi and coffee machines, so that works well, too. I’d take a picture of my office but it’s a total mess right now!
Hi Natalia! I feel the same way. What a difference going out once in awhile makes! Even though I love the comforts of home-sometimes a change of scenery gives me a new punch of inspiration. And I love the thought of co-working. I still need to look into that. Thanks for visiting!
